
The Brief
McTear Williams & Wood approached me to produce a series of concise, informative videos for their website and YouTube channel. The aim was to explain complex insolvency topics in a simple, approachable way, with each film lasting under one minute.
In a single filming day we produced 18 videos covering subjects such as:

➡️ One-minute insolvency terms
➡️ Business rescue guidance
The result was a library of consistent, professional content that can be used across their marketing channels.
Filming at Their Norwich Office
Rather than hiring a studio, filming took place at McTear Williams & Wood’s Norwich office.
Using the client’s own workplace creates authenticity, but it also presents challenges. Busy offices create background noise, meeting rooms are rarely designed for video production, and available space is often limited.
Finding the right location was essential to achieve a clean, professional look.

Behind The Scenes
Creating a Cinematic Look
Although each video is under a minute long, considerable preparation went into the filming.
The chosen boardroom featured large windows that produced constantly changing daylight. To maintain a consistent, premium appearance across all 18 videos, I carefully controlled the natural light and combined it with professional lighting techniques to create soft, flattering illumination.
Every interview was framed consistently so the entire video series looked cohesive.
Clear Audio Without Visible Microphones
Audio quality is just as important as picture quality.
Rather than attaching visible lapel microphones, I recorded the presenters using a professionally positioned boom microphone. This kept microphones completely out of shot while delivering clear, natural-sounding speech.
The result is a polished, distraction-free presentation that keeps viewers focused on the advice being shared.
Efficient Production
Planning was critical.
By designing a repeatable lighting setup and filming workflow, all 18 videos were recorded in a single day while maintaining a consistent visual style throughout the series.
This approach minimised disruption to the client’s working day while delivering a large library of marketing content.
The Finished Result
The finished videos now support McTear Williams & Wood’s website and YouTube presence, giving them a professional collection of short educational videos that explain complex topics in an accessible way.
